Luwam Amedie, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 14 years of nursing experience, including critical care and behavioral health care. Her diverse clinical background has shaped her calm, compassionate, and thoughtful approach to mental health treatment.
Throughout her nursing career, Luwam has cared for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Her ICU experience strengthened her ability to remain steady under pressure, think critically, and provide care with both skill and compassion. Her work in psychology and behavioral health deepened her understanding of how mental and physical health, life experiences, and daily stressors are interconnected.
As a psychiatric provider, Luwam provides patient-centered, evidence-based care through psychiatric evaluations, medication management, diagnostic assessments, and individualized treatment planning. She works with patients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, stress, sleep concerns, and other mental health challenges.
Luwam believes that mental health care should feel collaborative, respectful, and personal. She takes time to listen to each patient’s story, understand their concerns, and create a treatment plan that supports their goals. She hopes that every patient feels heard, supported, and empowered in their care.
Patients can expect a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental space where they can speak openly and feel understood. Luwam combines clinical knowledge, evidence-based medication management, patient education, and whole-person care to support emotional wellness, daily functioning, and long-term stability.
Outside of her clinical work, Luwam enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and making meaningful memories with family and friends. She values connection, balance, and self-care, and brings that same whole-person perspective into the care she provides.
Luwam is passionate about helping patients feel less alone in their mental health journey and supporting them as they move toward healing, stability, and a better quality of life.
